This is for the writers who feel like they don't write enough- because of jobs, because of exams and school, college, university and all that jazz. You are valid, what makes you a writer is that you love to create characters, plots and the like. It doesn't matter how much you manage to write. It's about the joy of creation and the comfort of knowing that this is all a part of you.

Your wips can and will wait if they have to. Don't stress yourselves out. Do what's important, take care of yourselves.

You are worthy.

You are valid

If you’re a poor person listen spending less on things that makes you happy/only spending money on essentials will not get you out of poverty but will make you want to kill yourself

Looking back in 1992, Sinead O’Conner wasn’t wrong… “Fight the real enemy” she said. May she rest in peace. pic.twitter.com/PFWZkqwzfY — Teddygram X™️ (@Teddygram62) July 26, 2023ALT

Just in case anyone isn't aware, Sinéad O'Connor went on Saturday Night Live, sang about abuse, specifically child abuse, and tore up a picture of the pope live on US national TV. She was subsequently banned from SNL and faced death threats in the wake of this despite being 100% correct that the catholic church is complicit in child sexual abuse. This woman was dragged through the mud, raked over the coals, for calling out what was going on. She was booed on stage when she'd perform with other acts, to the point she had to be comforted on stage while in tears.

All she did was speak truth, and people tore her apart for it. Sinéad deserved so much better. She went from a darling with an angel's voice singing a heartfelt song to a pariah for daring to call out the evils of the catholic church. She deserved so, so much better, and I hope she's at peace in whichever afterlife she went to. May her bravery be a lesson to us all.

God...I was only 8 when that incident happened on SNL and so I didn't watch it live, but do I ever remember the backlash and news fall out and CONSTANT chatter from adults (most of whom around me were not even Catholic) about how what she did was so crass and disrespectful...it was parodies to death, mocked, scolded, scorned, and etc. It was very very common to act like everyone believed that she was right to be banned from so many things there after and it was like you could/would NEVER even see that terrible, awful radical's full performance clip again in syndication or whatever because it was 1992 and NBC heavily buried it as if it was like she performed an on stage murder.

For tearing up a picture.

A picture.

It seems absurd to me to think that there would be any level of reaction about an act like that today...BECAUSE SHE WAS RIGHT and also because every other artist who comes after her to do anything on live TV in a remotely similar way gets to stand on her shoulders. But also, I then think about the 21st century conservative reaction to Colin Kaepernick or the Barbie movie right now and I remember that maybe we really would still see the same shit now? Just from less people overall, perhaps.

Anyway, the real reason I wanted to tag on right now that because another post about her recent passing shared, SHE DID NOT REGRET THIS. She feels it didn't ruin HER career.
